Suspect in Blissfield sisters' slayings found dead

The man wanted for the shooting deaths of two Blissfield sisters killed himself Tuesday night in a cabin in rural West Virginia as police closed in on him.

The U.S. Marshals Service, following up on a lead, discovered the body of Thomas Fritz in a remote cabin near Sistersville, in Tyler County, W.Va., according to Michigan State Police Lt. Sean Furlong.

Fritz, 38, an ex-convict and Iraqi war veteran, apparently shot himself.

"He is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Furlong said. "His body was found in a cabin in a very remote area after it was surrounded by U.S. Marshals and members of the local sheriff's office."
