Feds: Bray's Burgers owner a loan shark

Charges detailing lying to agents, exorbitant interest rates come 4 days after diner raided

Detroit— The owner of a Westland hamburger joint was charged in federal court with lying to federal agents and labeled a loan shark who charged exorbitant interest rates to local Albanians — including a candidate for Congress.

The accusations against Bray's Hamburgers owner Tomo Duhanaj are spelled out in federal court records unsealed Monday, four days after FBI agents raided the popular burger place and his family's coney island diner in Ferndale.

The criminal complaint alleges Duhanaj is connected to a former auto racing executive and a congressional hopeful, who borrowed cash to revamp his Mexican restaurant.
