Court filings say Soave bribed Kilpatrick

Detroit— Businessman Anthony Soave bribed ex-Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick with private flights, $10,000 worth of courtside Detroit Pistons tickets, New York City shopping sprees and helped his mistress lease a Land Rover, according to allegations in a federal court filing.
The Grosse Pointe Farms businessman's lawyer disagreed Thursday, saying Soave was extorted.
Ex-Detroit water boss Victor Mercado, who is asking to stand trial on racketeering conspiracy counts separate from Kilpatrick, the mayor's father and contractor Bobby Ferguson, leveled the accusations in a legal filing late Wednesday.
